NFL Sends Hysteria Brewing Company Letter Saying Lamar Jackson-Themed Beer Is 'Unauthorized Use Of NFL Marks'
COLUMBIA, Md. (WJZ) -- Columbia's Hysteria Brewing Company is getting in on the Lamar Jackson hype train, but their efforts have reportedly landed them in legal trouble with the National Football League.
The company announced its upcoming "#MVP" beer release Tuesday.
While the comments on the brewery's Facebook post were largely positive, it appears the NFL is not a fan of the new brew. Hysteria posted Friday that it had received a letter from the NFL's lawyers calling the concoction an "unauthorized use of NFL marks."
The brewery said it still plans to sell the #MVP brew but with a different label to address the NFL's concerns.
This season, Jackson has thrown for 2,532 yards and 25 touchdowns. He was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for November.
Jackson and the Ravens take on the Buffalo Bills Sunday at 1 p.m. on WJZ.
