Howard Co. Teacher Charged With Sex Assault of Teen
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Howard County police have arrested a teacher for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy he met online.
Thirty-six-year-old Christopher Fox of Orpin Road in Randallstown has been charged with multiple counts of sex offenses and sexual solicitation of a minor.
On July 10, the boy told police that he had chatted online with a person he believed was a 16-year-old boy. The two met and the victim told police that he was surprised the man, Fox, was an adult. The boy said Fox engaged in several sex acts with him. Afterwards, the victim went home and called police.
Police have been investigating the incident. They recent received forensic results linking Fox to the case. Fox turned himself in to police at central booking in Howard County, Tuesday night.
Police said they're investigating whether Fox engaged in inappropriate contact with any other victims. They believe Fox may have communicated with other boys on the Internet using fake names.
According to Howard County Public School System, Fox has been a technology teacher since 2003. He's worked at Atholton High School, Folly Quarter Middle School and Mount View Middle School. He was a basketball coach at Glenelg High School from 2006 to 2007. Fox has been working in a building services facility since 2013.
According to HCPSS, Fox has been placed on administrative leave and is forbidden from entering any HCPSS property pending a personnel investigation.
