Howard Co. Police Investigate Suspected Meth Lab

ELKRIDGE, Md. (AP) -- Howard County police have arrested five men after discovering what appeared to be a meth lab in an Elkridge hotel room.

Police say a caller reported a strange odor inside a room at a Holiday Inn Express in the 6000-block of Marshalee Drive about 10:40 p.m. Monday. When they arrived, police detected a strong odor near a room on the fourth floor. Police say they knocked on the door, were let in and saw chemicals inside the room.

Three men inside the room were arrested along with a man who later arrived at the room and another man wandering the parking lot. The men range in age from 20 to 34.

Emergency crews evacuated all fourth floor rooms and rooms above and below the suspected meth lab.
