Howard Co. Police Charge Former Correctional Officer For Sexual Contact With Inmate
HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) -- Howard County Police have charged a former correctional officer who worked at the Howard County Detention Center with having sexual contact with a female inmate.
Gregory Charles Kirk, 40, was arrested at his Owings Mills home. He will be charged with "sexual conduct between a correctional employee and inmate."
Police were contacted in November by the director of the detention center who reported an allegation that Kirk, a former correctional officer, may have had sexual contact with an inmate.
Kirk had been previously terminated for unrelated administrative issues.
Detectives conducted an investigation and many interviews at the jail.
Kirk is accused of engaging in sexual activity with a female inmate in a cell.
The charge is a misdemeanor that carries a maximum penalty of up to three years in jail and a $3,000 fine.
