Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub Talks Football And Charity Work
Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub
Houston Texans Quarterback and Ed Block Courage Award winner Matt Schaub joins The Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to talk about winning the Ed Block Courage Award and his charities.
Matt Schaub struggled with a lisfranc ligament injury. He talks breifly about how his rehabilitation went and then finally returning to play this past season.
Matt also gives us his take on the Ravens season and run into the playoffs. As a Quarterback Matt also talks about the evolution of the position with players like RGIII and Colin Kaepernick emerging for their respected teams. Ultimately, he recognizes that the position will never completely change. He says you will never change or eliminate the pocket passer.
Schaub also touches on how the league and the players need to help save the Pro-Bowl. "It's a nice reward at the end of a season" for players and their families.
The end of the regular season for the Texans, was much like the Ravens last few weeks before the playoffs. They lost some rhythm and faced some desperate teams who were fighting for playoff spots. The failed to get home field advantage for the playoffs.
The 'Gr8 Hope Foundation' works with children with medical needs and the Texas Childrens' Hospital. He goes to visit them and see the faces of the children he gets to help. He says "to be able to help them out and to be able to give back to them it warms your heart." Even though these kids are sick and facing some troubling circumstances, they're still positive. Certainly a motivating sight for Matt.
