NC Central Downs Md-Eastern Shore 82-54
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) -- Alfonzo Houston led North Carolina Central with 17 points off the bench as the Eagles won their ninth straight game, defeating Maryland-Eastern Shore 82-54 Monday night in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action.
Houston was 9 of 9 at the foul line and grabbed six rebounds for N.C. Central (15-7, 8-0), which also got 13 points from Jeremy Ingram and Ray Willis and 12 from Stanton Kidd. The Eagles shot 52 percent (26 of 50) from the floor and had 15 assists to the Hawks' six.
Eleven different players scored for N.C. Central, including Emanuel Chapman, who had three points with six assists. The junior now has 353 career assists, seven shy of Donald Sinclair for third in school history.
Maryland-Eastern Shore (1-17, 1-6) was paced by 18 points and 10 rebounds from Troy Snyder as the Hawks dropped their fourth straight.
The Hawks hit just 18 of 55 field goals.
