Millions of dollars come Maryland's way as Netflix announces a second season for its original series, "House of Cards." Baltimore is a Washington, D.C. stand-in for the popular series about political wheeling and dealing.
Maryland hopes to match the revenue generated by the Netflix original series last year.
"Who doesn't benefit when a film comes here?" said Jack Gerbes, director of the Maryland Film Office.
Maryland's proximity to Washington makes it an attractive location for politically-based storylines and this year, Governor Martin O'Malley sweetened the pot by signing a $25 million tax credit for production companies.
Alan Fink, of ABC Box Company in South Baltimore, is a local vendor who benefits from "House of Cards."
"I'll tell you the truth, we couldn't be happier," Fink said.
According to the Maryland Film Office, "House of Cards" generated $140 million its first season, providing 2,200 jobs and using 1,800 vendors, including ABC Box Company.
"We constantly hear stories how a production makes a huge difference in a small business's revenue," Gerbes said.

"They need supplies now and they need it in large quantities and that's been a real boon to us," Fink said.
The "House of Cards" developer says they're grateful to Governor O'Malley and the General Assembly for encouraging film and TV production in Maryland.
The HBO series "Veep" also filmed in Maryland and is airing its second season.
