Hopkins Lets Professor Re-Post Blog About NSA
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Johns Hopkins University says it's allowing one of its professors to re-post a blog about the National Security Agency it previously asked him to remove.
Computer security expert Matthew Green wrote on a university-hosted blog Friday about news reports that the NSA was able to weaken Internet encryption. He said on Twitter on Monday that Hopkins asked him to remove the post, although another post is hosted elsewhere.
A Hopkins spokesman told The Associated Press it asked for the removal because it contained links to classified material and used the NSA's logo. It said it later discovered the blog linked to material already in the press.
Green did not return requests seeking comment Monday. He has commented previously about NSA secrets leaked this summer by former government contractor Edward Snowden.
