Hoops Talk With Terps Head Coach Mark Turgeon
Maryland Terrapins Head Basketball Coach Mark Turgeon joined Sports Rehab with Bob Haynie to talk about the Terps upcoming season.
With the Terps coming into this season with a preseason ranking of #3 overall, Mark talked about expectations, "We can't control expectations. I know where we are and where we stand right now but the good thing for me is we've had a really good week and we've gotten a lot better. We're nowhere near our ranking right now but the key is that we just keep getting better. I'm not going to let expectations ruin anything that happens with this team."
There has been a lot of hype surrounding top recruit Diamond Stone coming into this season. Coach Turgeon talked about if he will start the season as the starter, "We'll see...to his credit the last two weeks he has done a lot of great things both on and off the court. I think offensively he is our best five man. It's the other end where he has got the furthest to go but he's coming. He is very coachable and he has been a great teammate. That makes the chances for him of that happening a lot greater so we'll see."
