Homicide Added To DUI Charges In Fatal Crash
OAKLAND, Md. (AP) -- The Garrett County Sheriff's Office says homicide charges have been added to driving under the influence charges filed against an Oakland man following a fatal crash in December.
The sheriff's office says Bryson Matthew Dixon, 24, has been charged with three counts of homicide by motor vehicle. Authorities say Samantha Gibson, 21, died following the Dec. 9 crash on George Washington Highway.
Investigators say Dixon was driving eastbound on the highway about 1:30 a.m. when he lost control and hit an embankment causing Gibson to be thrown from the vehicle. He faces three homicide counts, two DUI charges, driving while impaired, negligent driving and failing to drive right of the center line.
