Holy Cross Routs Navy 71-50
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Eric Obeysekere scored 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds as Holy Cross routed Navy 71-50 on Wednesday night.
The Crusaders (4-14, 3-1 Patriot League) led from start to finish, taking a 33-19 advantage at halftime and stretching it to a 21-point cushion in the waning minutes. Jordan Stevens added 15 points and Andrew Beinert had 14 for Holy Cross.
Jordan Sugars scored 16 points and had eight rebounds for the Midshipmen (5-15, 0-4), who lost their fourth in a row and ninth in 10 games. Navy shot only 28.1 percent from the field (18 of 64) and couldn't capitalize on Holy Cross committing nearly twice its turnovers. Navy scored 19 points off the Crusaders' 17 turnovers, while Holy Cross scored only 10 off Navy's nine.
Holy Cross had a big advantage in long-range shooting, making 10 of 20 3-point tries, compared to Navy's 1 of 25.
