Hit Musical 'American Idiot' At Hippodrome Now Through Sunday
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Direct from Broadway, the hit rock musical "American Idiot" is now playing at the Hippodrome in Baltimore.
It features the music of Green Day, and Mary Bubala danced along to some of it.
It's emotionally charged, and full of dancing.
The musical "American Idiot" is the story of three friends, each searching for meaning in a post 9/11 world.
The cast is made up of 20-somethings, young souls who can move.
"It's really human, it connects with a lot of people, it's very visceral, very raw, which I think is really something exciting to see on stage," said Alyssa DiPalma, American Idiot.
Dancing alongside Alyssa is 22-year-old Alison Morooney. She's in charge of the dancing on stage.
"I'm the dance captain, so I'm responsible for keeping all the choreography in shape and the way it's supposed to be looking," she said.
So what happens when a new cast member joins the ensemble? One with no dance experience, and wearing high heels?
Be very, very afraid.
Those very patient dance teachers took Mary through the routine a few times, and then they put it music.
"Whoops, I didn't get the job. Oh well," she said.
"American Idiot" is at the Hippodrome through Sunday. Tickets are available online here.
