Heavy Traffic Expected As Annapolis Hosts Several Weekend Events
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ)— It's a busy weekend in Annapolis, and heavy traffic is expected throughout the area.
In addition to the Navy football game, Annapolis Boat Show and Maryland Renaissance Festival, there's the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend event and several motorcycle events in the area to benefit the Toys for Tots organization.
Saturday peak times are between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Some of the impacted roads include I-97, Route 50, West Street, Rowe Boulevard, Aris T Allen Blvd, Ritchie Highway, Solomons Island Road, Riva Road, Route 32, Route 100 and Defense Highway.
- Navy Football plays Air Force at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday in front of a soldout crowd. Expect periodic road closures on roads around the stadium before and after the game.
- The Power Boat Show is in Annapolis all weekend. Parking on Saturday is at 2644 Riva Road (Board of Education lot). Shuttle buses will take you to the show.
- Renaissance Festival continues in Crownsville.
- There will be several motorcycle processions.
