Hearing In Army Private Case Postponed By Storm
FORT MEADE, Md. (AP) -- A pretrial hearing for an Army private accused of leaking a trove of classified materials has been postponed because of Hurricane Sandy.
Pfc. Bradley Manning had been scheduled to appear this week in a military courtroom in Fort Meade, Md., for a motions hearing.
But the military says the hearing has now been moved to Nov. 7-8 because of the expected damage and problems caused by the storm.
Manning is charged with aiding the enemy, an offense punishable by life in prison, for allegedly sending hundreds of thousands of classified war logs and diplomatic cables to WikiLeaks while serving as an intelligence analyst in Iraq.
