This all went down at a house near Arbutus Middle School and across from UMBC on the corner of Shelbourne Road and Brown Terrace.
Baltimore County Police Looking For Suspects In Fatal Shooting Of Drevon Williams A Year Later
The call came in just after 6 a.m., police said, for a report of a shooting. When police arrived they found a victim inside the house suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Drevon Jamal Williams. His last known address was in the 5600 block of Shelbourne Road.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police believe Williams was targeted, but they said there is no active threat.
Investigation revealed that at least one suspect entered the house, found the victim and shot Williams.
The suspect ran from the house after the shooting. There were several other people inside the home, none of whom were injured during the incident.
They do not have any descriptions of suspects at this time.
"We're looking into several leads that were lead at this point. But, right now, we don't want to give too many details that that confirm anything at this point. A lot of the details – because we have an active investigation. Our homicide detectives are here and they want to continue their investigation inside the house. But, we can confirm at this point the incident did occur inside the house," said Cpl. Shawn Vinson.
Neighbors told WJZ the house where the incident took place had people coming and going frequently.
"We're not surprised. It had to happen sometime. I mean, something's happening over there. You know, sometimes you'll see three, four, five cars parked out in front throughout the night," neighbor Ron Schwartz said.
In an earlier report, police called the incident a possible home invasion and said the man was shot in the head, but at this time, they have pulled back on what information they are releasing.
