Hagerstown To Crown Miss Maryland For Next 5 Years
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Miss Maryland would continue to be crowned in Hagerstown for another five years under a new contract.
The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports that the city of Hagerstown has negotiated another five-year contract to rent The Maryland Theatre for the pageant.
The cost of the rental is $34,000 with $8,000 being paid by the city, $16,000 by the county and $10,000 by the pageant.
The Hagerstown City Council has approved the terms of the contract and will take a final vote on the contract after all parties have given their approval.
The Miss Maryland pageant has been held in Hagerstown for more than 35 years.
