Hagerstown Approves $600,000 For Recycling Bins
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- The Hagerstown City Council has authorized the city to get a $600,000 loan to pay for recycling containers.
The council voted 4-1 on Tuesday for the 10-year loan, which has a 4 percent interest rate the first seven years.
Officials plan to distribute the containers in April and collect the old ones.
The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports that most residents will have a single collection day each week, and no longer will be required to separate recyclables.
