Guardian Angels Step Up Patrols At Metro Stations
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The D.C. chapter of the Guardian Angels says it will begin patrolling Metro's trains and buses with more frequency following an increase in attacks at Metro stations.
John Ayala, East Coast director of the Guardian Angels, says uniformed and nonuniformed members will be on Metro's trains and buses. He says they will intervene if they see an attack and detain people for police.
The group will focus on certain routes: the green line from Fort Totten to Congress Heights; the yellow line from Fort Totten to L'Enfant Plaza; the orange line from L'Enfant Plaza to New Carrollton; and the blue line from L'Enfant Plaza to Stadium-Armory.
