Great Frederick Fair Underway In Maryland
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- It's the first weekend of the Great Frederick Fair.
The 151st fair began Friday and continues through Sept. 21.
Organizers say there are more than 18,00 exhibits, including thousands in a farm and garden building, where flowers, fruits and vegetables, farm crops and home brewed beers and wines are being displayed. Other exhibits include handmade clothing, baked goods and photography. Livestock, including cattle, sheep, horses, goats pigs, rabbits and alpacas, will also be competing for prizes.
On Saturday, the fair is holding a decorated wagon parade for kids, among other events, and country music singer Martina McBride is performing, though tickets to her show are extra.
General admission to the fair is $7 per person. Parking on the fairgrounds is $7 per vehicle or $5 per vehicle on fair operated satellite lots.
