Governor Surveys Damage In Queen Anne's County
MILLINGTON, Md. (WJZ) -- Governor Martin O'Malley continues to survey damage throughout the state.
Mike Hellgren has more.
It is bad enough not to have power but we met people who lost much of what they have.
Irene left some with little more than the clothes on their backs. Flood water submerged much of the tiny town of Millington.
"There's a lot of people here...most of these folks have never met so many of their local elected officials," O'Malley said.
But they can't put a price tag on their survival. One woman lost her house and it could be six months before things are back to normal.
"[It was] louder than the first earthquake," said one woman.
A federal disaster declaration means there is money on the way. FEMA will help out where and how they can.
