Gov. O'Malley Appoints Anne Hoskins To Public Service Commission
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Gov. Martin O'Malley has appointed Anne Hoskins to serve on the Maryland Public Service Commission.
The governor announced the appointment on Wednesday to fill a vacancy created when commissioner Kevin Hughes was named chairman.
Hoskins has served as senior vice president of public affairs and sustainability for the Public Service Enterprise Group in Newark, N.J., for more than six years. She worked on federal and state government affairs advocacy and policy initiatives in that role. She also advocated for Environmental Protection Agency regulations to reduce pollution from power production.
Before working at PSGE, Hoskins served as senior counsel for Verizon Wireless.
The PSC, which has five members, regulates gas, electric, telephone, water and sewage disposal companies.
