Glenn Younes: Ravskins - The Battle Of Md.
Another close road game, another loss and another streak snapped for the Baltimore Ravens. No more 15 regular season wins at M&T no more 12 game division win streak, both as of last week, and now no more 15 consecutive wins following a loss.
31-28 OT in Landover and the Battle of the Beltway went to the burgundy & gold. Bragging rights were at stake some said but confidence, bounce back and a road win is what I wanted. What I got was more conformation of what I've seen and known... The defense is down way too many important players, the O-line tries hard but are being asked to do things outside their skill set and that fact adds to the issues Flacco has. Joe looked great in the first half but as the game went on and the pass rush inched closer the lack of mental clock and pocket presence showed its ugly head.
This team is what I thought they'd be. Better than average but not elite, not with that O-line and not with the subtractions on D.
The L to Washington wasn't as mind numbing as the prior week was vs. Pittsburgh but it hurts, not in the standings though as Cincinnati and the aforementioned Steelers both dropped games as well. Now it's Denver, Peyton Manning and the friendly confines of home... Time to start a new streak, the postseason is still ripe for the picking.
