Glenn Younes: Playing Colts Without Manning
The double whammy that was…
Beating the Colts here in Baltimore (hopefully) will be a huge deal for the old faithful who stood by as their football team was taken away from them in the middle of the night. It'd be an even bigger deal if arguably the best QB in this era was on the field and the team coming from Indy had a decent record, not winless at 0-12.
The double whammy would have been a big Ravens win in Baltimore over Peyton Manning and the Colts, ideally a good Colts team. You are lying to yourself if you don't think it'd mean more that way. Not to say a win in week 14 won't be needed, wanted, respected and expected but it just won't be the same.
Yes, the Ravens can only play who's on the schedule and all that cliché nonsense, again a win is required Sunday but it just won't mean as much. In a year or 10 years when we look back at 2011 week 14 a win over the winless Colts without Manning won't mean what I'd like it to… no disrespect but it's just not the same and you know it.
