Glenn Younes: Orioles - Winning Is A Process
For those who think 2013 was the same as it ever was for Baltimore's baseball team... You weren't paying attention!
While this years batch of ball players didn't achieve the postseason climax, they did give the fans a seasons worth of competitive sport. That's something we've been starved for here and the blast of last season was just a jump into the future. One playoff birth doesn't give a free pass to the next season, which seemed to be the thought process of the fan base.
Now that there won't be postseason in 2013 it's time to reflect and realize the great ride the Orioles gave us. Competitive baseball is back... It's not an all or nothing proposition, there was great theater and drama all season long. That's a lot to be thankful for and the best part, it seems to be just the start.
This organization is growing, has plenty of young talent and a great base of All Star players too. It's all to say CALM DOWN.
Yes, playoffs were the goal but the season wasn't a loss. The city got enjoyment almost all the way till the end. Something we weren't able to say for nearly 15 years prior.
