Glenn Younes: Ed Reed - A Legend Leaving
"It is what it is" is one of my least favorite expressions because it's such a bailout excuse and explanation, but it's also accurate as much as I hate it.
The NFL is nothing more than an entertainment entity and sometimes teams make a decision on a player or a player on a team. It's a multi-billion dollar business and everyone is in on the hustle. Price of players, owners bottom line, cap, age, location, revenue, locker room dynamic and more. Many reason and factors are at play and at the end of the day Ed Reed is no longer a part of the Baltimore Ravens Football team, signing with the Texans this morning.
Arguably the greatest safety ever to play will now do so in Houston. It's sad, it's upsetting to many fans but it's the sad reality of the business of football. Ed Reed will always be a part of Baltimore, with his foundation being based here and he'll go into the Hall of Fame as a Raven. When its time I'm sure he'll sign a one day to retire with the team but for now a friend on the field turns into a foe.
Thanks for the memories Ed!
