Glenn Younes: A Win Is A Win, Except...
A win is a win and you can never get too high and get too low... Blah blah blah. A win against the Steelers in Pittsburgh is more than just a win and the way Joe Flacco drove the offense down the field for the game winning touchdown was more than just a game winning drive. Joe earned the nations respect, he proved to his team he can take control and he proved to himself that even with multiple drops he can overcome.
Week 9's win, 23-20, in Pittsburgh means an inside track on the division, a sweep of the Steelers and the overwhelming sense of confidence in knowing you control your own destiny. That is the QB, offense and total team we expected. The shotgun formation has been Joe's savior in that it allows him to see the field, throw hot, go deep or hit Boldin on slants. I can't say enough about the final drive of 92 yards and how Joe, almost single handed, shrugged off drops and pressure to make the next needed play. He earned his title "Joe Cool" Sunday night and took a giant step in earning the new contract he so badly wants.
Ravens got back on track in a big way. 8 games down, 8 games to go. Halfway home, 6-2 with a sweep of the Steelers looks pretty good right now.
