Glen Burnie Man Arrested In Baseball Bat Beating & Robbery
GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WJZ) -- Anne Arundel County police have made an arrest in the baseball bat beating that happened during a robbery Wednesday night.
William Lee Haynes, 35, of Glen Burnie, is charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, robbery, armed robbery, theft under $1,000 and theft under $100.
Police say the 40-year-old victim was was walking on Virginia Avenue around 8:49 p.m. Wednesday and passed a group of people when he was suddenly attacked by a suspect who hit him in the head with a baseball bat.
The victim was robbed of cell phones and a wallet.
He was taken to Shock Trauma with serious injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
