Excitement Builds Ahead Of Gervonta Davis' Big Fight In Baltimore
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Gervonta Davis is getting ready for his big fight back home in Baltimore.
The two-time super featherweight champion is bringing his title home and is gearing up to face off against Ricardo Nuñez at the Royal Farms Arena July 27.
Davis took the stage at Mondawmin Mall at a fan rally on Wednesday to thank the city - and his fans -- for supporting his big fight.
"His resume speaks for itself," Leonard Ellerbe, of Mayweather Productions, said. "He's the most exciting fighter in the entire sport."
Davis said his fight at Royal Farms Arena is a dream come true.
"I never thought I would fight in Baltimore City in a big arena," Davis said. "I always watched it on TV, people coming home to their hometown to fight."
