Gas Prices Decrease---But For How Long?
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Maryland drivers have had some relief at the gas pump. Gasoline prices went down over the July 4th holiday weekend, but how long will it stay that way?

It was a happy Fourth of July for Maryland drivers.
"As the hot July 4th holiday travel period winds down, Marylanders---along with Americans across the country---are finding lower prices at the pump," said Christine Delise, AAA Mid-Atlantic.
And some Baltimore drivers have noticed.
"Looks like they've gone down a little bit in the past couple weeks," said one driver.
Friday, the state average was $3.45 a gallon---two cents lower than a week ago and four cents lower than last month. In Baltimore, the average is $3.43 a gallon.
That means you can celebrate a little more this holiday weekend.
"We believe prices will continue to decline slightly the few days after the July 4th period," Delise said.
But enjoy it while it lasts. Like last summer and the summer before, drivers will likely see prices go up by the end of July.
"Crude oil prices are trending higher; summer demand is now heating up," Delise said. "We're also in the midst of hurricane season."
As for the gas tax increase that went into effect July 1, drivers will likely really feel the impact from that soon.
According to AAA, nearly 690,000 Marylanders hit the roads for the July 4th holiday weekend.
