Frederick Police Make 15 Arrests In Drug Ring
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- After an eight-month investigation in Frederick, police have arrested 15 people thought to be working in an organized group in connection with drug activity.
The Frederick News-Post reports 14 adults and one juvenile were arrested for drug activity in the area of South and Madison streets. The investigation resulted in 10 search-and-seizure warrants. Six guns were confiscated, along with crack cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana, heroin and Ecstasy.
The investigation began in September as the city experienced a rash of crime downtown. Members of the group were connected to a brawl downtown on Oct. 1. One person was seriously injured in the incident.
The day before the fight, an Urbana man was found shot to death after a night out with friends downtown. Police say the homicide investigation remains unsolved.
