Frederick Opening Cooling Center
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- The city of Frederick says it's opening a cooling center to help residents cope with the hot weather.
The cooling center at 100 South Market Street will be open Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The city also says the hot weather has prompted Potomac Edison to cancel some maintenance work that would have caused a power outage late Sunday and early Monday in parts of the downtown area.
