Frederick News-Post Names New Publisher
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- The Frederick News-Post says it has chosen a new publisher.
He is Geordie Wilson, vice president of online strategy for Newspapers of New England of Concord, N.H. Current News-Post Publisher Myron Randall Jr. told his staff on Wednesday that Wilson will assume the position July 5.
Randall said in April he was considering stepping down as publisher to focus on strategic initiatives. He will remain president of Randall Family LLC, the newspaper's parent company.
Wilson has been a Newspapers of New England executive since 2010. For five years before that, he was publisher of the Concord Monitor, the company's flagship publication.
Wilson was publisher of the Monitor when it won a Pulitzer Prize for photography in 2008.
