Frederick Co. Considers Seeking Slots For Nonprofits
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- The Frederick County Commissioners are considering asking the Maryland General Assembly to allow slot machines operated by local nonprofit clubs.
The proposal is among 11 that the commissioners are taking to a public hearing Tuesday night in Frederick.
Such a measure would make the Frederick the 10th Maryland county with slots run by fraternal, religious and war veterans' organizations. The others are on the Eastern Shore.
Each club would be limited to five slot machines under the proposal.
