Former Oriole Ken Singleton Joins Scott & Jeremy
Ken Singleton, former Orioles player and current Yankees commentator for the YES network, join The Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn.Ken Singleton is in the middle of all the hype in New York regarding the game last night between the Orioles and Yankees. It was a very emotional game for The New York Yankees and their fans as this was Derek Jeter's last home game in their stadium. When asked how he felt about it, Singleton said "this is the 2nd straight year I've had a signing off game. Last year was Mariano Rivera and this year Jeter."
He went on to explain that last night's game was something to behold. "The entire Yankees stadium was emotional. I think everybody knew last night was going to be an emotional night. Nobody's played for the Yankees as long as he has. He is the winningest Yankee player of all time."
Scott talked about how great it was that during every batting practice he would run out his ground balls like it was a real game. "Right to the very end he was doing that same thing" stated Singleton.
As important as this game was for the Yankees, unfortunately they did not make the playoffs this year. Single ton said at the end of the game last night, in which all the Orioles players stuck around in the dugout to pay respect, Jeter made his way over to the dugout and congratulated the Orioles for winning the division. The crowd started to boo and Jeter said they deserved it and suddenly the crowd stopped booing. "That's how much he is respected."
