Former NBA Player Walt Williams On The Terps Performance Against Rider
Walt Williams is former Maryland Terrapin and current analyst for Terrapins Radio Network.
Walt joined Ed and Steve to discuss the Terps performance against Rider University and the latest news and notes around the NBA.
Steve asked Walt if the Terps performance against Rider was indicative of a poor effort from the Terps or Rider being a good basketball team. Walt believes the game was more of a testament to Rider being a good team, "you have to lean towards they are good. To come back and have the same energy level against Rider as they did against Georgetown is a tough thing, but they were able to get the job done which is what matters."
Ed asked Walt about his thoughts on the Terps number 2 national ranking. Walt thinks the Terps ranking puts them where they need to be, "I think that after their performances against Georgetown and Rider they are where they need to be. They have a ways to go before they are at their best."
Walt went on to discuss the early season play of Diamond Stone, whether Tom Izzo and the Michigan State program get the respect they deserve, and how many of the experts could have been so wrong about their expectations for New York Knicks rookie Kristaps Porzingis.
