Former Deputy Sheriff Sentenced For Having Sex With Inmate
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A former deputy sheriff in Prince George's County has been sentenced to one year in prison for having sex with an inmate.
A judge gave Lamar McIntyre a three-year sentence on Friday, with all but one year suspended. He'll also be on probation for 18 months after his release.
McIntyre pleaded guilty to having consensual sex with a woman who was waiting to see a judge in June 2012. The encounter took place in a courthouse holding cell.
The woman reported the encounter to corrections department staff, and McIntyre was ultimately charged.
Prince George's County State's Attorney Angela Alsobrooks says "McIntyre's actions were reprehensible and embarrassing."
