Flaherty's HR Gives Orioles 3-3 Tie With Red Sox
SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) -- Ryan Flaherty's two-run home run in the 10th inning earned the Baltimore Orioles a 3-3 tie with a Boston Red Sox split squad on Friday.
The Red Sox scored two runs in the top of the 10th on a home run by Juan Carlos Linares and an RBI single by Ronald Bermudez.
In the bottom of the 10th, Russ Canzler singled with two outs, and Flaherty, who already has a game-winning home run this spring, hit a two-run homer.
In the first nine innings, Zach Britton, competing with several others to be Baltimore's fifth starter, and four others, allowed just two hits to the Red Sox. Britton gave up one hit in 3 2-3 innings.
Clayton Mortensen, vying for a spot on the Red Sox staff, allowed two hits in three innings.
