Flags Lowered In Md. In Memory Of Soldier
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley has ordered that the United States and state flags be flown at half-staff in memory of a soldier killed in Afghanistan.
O'Malley ordered the flags be lowered on Thursday from sunrise to sunset in memory of 41-year-old U.S. Army Lt. Col. David E. Cabrera, who was living in Olney.
Cabrera died on Oct. 29 in Kabul when the vehicle he was in was attacked.
He had been assigned to the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda.
