Flacco Ranked Top First Round QB In The Past Decade
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- American sports columnist and TV personality Skip Bayless, and several Fox Sports "Undisputed" panelists, say Joe Flacco is the best quarterback drafted in the first round over the past decade.
As one of Flacco's harshest critics, Bayless gave in and credited Flacco for his postseason victories. Flacco has a 10-5 postseason record, the second-most wins by a starting QB since 2008.
Flacco was drafted by the Ravens with the 18th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. In 2008, Flacco became the third rookie quarterback in NFL history to win his first post-season start, and the first to do it on the road.
Last season, Flacco completed a career high and franchise best 436 completions, and a career high and franchise best 672 attempts. The 672 pass attempts currently rank fifth most in a single season in league history.
"This is shocking to me because I'm not the biggest Fluke-O fan, but Joe Flacco [is] number one on this list just because of what he's done in the postseason," Bayless said. Bayless wasn't the only "Undisputed" panelist to rank Flacco No. 1.
Both Shannon Sharpe and Greg Jennings, two retired Super Bowl champions, also placed Flacco on top of their lists.
