Fla. Man Sentenced In Baltimore For Exporting Military Night Vision Goggles
BALTIMORE (AP) -- A Florida man who pleaded guilty to illegally exporting military night vision equipment he sold online has been sentenced to a year and a half in prison.
The U.S. Attorney's office in Baltimore says Anthony J. Torresi was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court.
The 34-year old from Coral Gables, Fla., will also spend three years on supervised release.
According to his plea agreement, Torresi listed night vision goggles and other equipment for sale on eBay, selling the equipment to undercover agents he believed were in New Zealand, but actually were in Baltimore.
Prosecutors say he exported the equipment without applying for a license to export the items.
