Pot On Stove May Have Started 3-Alarm Fire In Northwest Baltimore
BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- Baltimore City firefighters are investigating a three-alarm apartment building fire in Northwest Baltimore.
Mike Schuh reports it happened around 10 a.m. Thursday in the 3900-block of Gwynn Oak Avenue.
Residents say a pot left on the stove started the fire, gutting three units and leaving 15 others with smoke damage. More than two dozen residents have been displaced.
Much inside is feared to be ruined because of the smoke.
"Everywhere. The whole building," said a resident.
So far there have been no reports of any injuries.
An MTA bus was brought in to keep people warm while authorities investigated and details were finalized for relocating residents.
The American Red Cross is also responding.
