2-Alarm Fire In Ellicott City Causes Almost $1M In Damage
ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (WJZ) -- Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire in Ellicott City Saturday evening.
According to fire officials, there was a report of children trapped in the home.
When firefighters arrived at the 5000-block of Ellis Lane, they found the home had flames going through the roof. No victims were found inside.
Investigation showed that the residents were on vacation and the housesitter escaped with no injuries.
The fire was put under control around 11:50 p.m. Saturday.
Damage to the home is estimated at $900,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
