Firefighter Suffers Minor Injury

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Baltimore fire officials say a firefighter suffered minor burns while battling a two-alarm house fire.

The fire broke out around 3:40 p.m. Sunday in a two-story home in northeast Baltimore. It went to two alarms in part because of downed power lines.

Fire department spokesman Kevin Cartwright says five people were in the house when the blaze started but escaped without injury. The fire took about an hour to bring under control. The cause remains under investigation.

The injured firefighter was taken to the burn unit at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for treatment. Another firefighter was treated for flu symptoms.
