WESTMINISTER, Md. (AP) -- A New Year's Eve fire caused an estimated $500,000 damage to two businesses in Carroll County.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal says firefighters were called to a fire at 1060 Francis Scott Key Highway in Keymar at about 5:50 p.m. Monday. It took approximately 100 firefighters two hours to get the blaze under control.

Authorities say the building that caught fire is home to two local companies, Keymar Tire Outlet and J. P. Donmoyer Trucking Company.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
