Final Four Preview With Pat Kennedy
Former Towson Tigers Men's Basketball Coach Pat Kennedy, who is now apart of the Yahoo Sports team, joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to preview the NCAA Final Four live from Indianapolis. Notre Dame came as close as you can get to knocking off the undefeated Kentucky Wildcats last weekend in the Elite 8. Pat gave his thoughts on what the Fighting Irish did against the Wildcats that made them successful against such a tough team. "What Notre Dame did was played a lot of 5 man out. They didn't necessarily play with a low post player and they were able to get in their sets very effectively. They got a lot of open shots and I think by winning the ACC Championship and having been in that arena playing the people they had to play was a great confidence builder."
Maryland landed a top notch player in the country when five-star center Diamond Stone committed to the Terps. Pat gave his thoughts on the Terps landing the McDonald's All-American. "Well I think it's great for them in terms of the national scale. I think that when you think about the University of Maryland, they're always going to be powerful in the Maryland/DC Area and the eastern seaboard... I'm not sure if he is a one and done guy or if he is a two or three and done guy but he is actually going to be an impact guy right away and I think Mark (Turgeon) did a great job this year."
