Father Charged With Abuse After 6-Month-Old Daughter Dies
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Police say a six-month-old girl has died as a result of injuries from being beaten. The girl, Olivia, had been in the hospital since May 22.
Olivia had several injuries, including second-degree burns on her neck and face, a broken rib and a bruised arm.
Her father has been identified as Demante Palmer. Palmer, 34, has been charged with attempted second-degree murder, assault, child abuse and other charges. He's being held without bond. Police officials say the charges may change as a result of Olivia's death.
Olivia is the fifth child killed in Baltimore this year and the third where the father has been charged.
