Ex-Ravens Cheerleader Officially Divorced On Day Of Rape Indictment
BALTIMORE (AP/WJZ) -- A former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader who has been charged with raping one teenage boy and providing others with alcohol was officially divorced from her estranged husband, a prominent Maryland energy executive, on the same day as her indictment.
Mike Hellgren reported the divorce last week when a family spokesman told WJZ: "Mr. Shattuck is shocked and saddened about the allegations against his ex-wife, from whom he is divorced. He is focused on the care and welfare of his children, who are with him, and is deeply concerned about others affected by this."
A Baltimore County judge signed Mayo and Molly Shattuck's divorce order on Nov. 3, the same day a grand jury indicted Molly Shattuck on charges of third-degree rape, unlawful sexual contact and providing alcohol to minors. The charges stem from an illicit sexual relationship Shattuck allegedly forged with one of her children's 15-year-old classmates.
Mayo Shattuck's attorney Nicole Gilkeson said Mayo and Molly Shattuck had been living apart for more than a year and that their divorce "had nothing to do with the criminal allegations."
