Ex-Housing Official Sentenced For Bribery
BALTIMORE (AP) -- A federal judge has sentenced the former executive director of the Havre de Grace Housing Authority to three years probation for bribery of a public official.
George Robinson, 63, of Bel Air must serve six months of probation in a halfway house and must pay a $1,200 fine.
According to his plea, Robinson was responsible for obtaining bids and awarding contracts for improvements to housing projects.
According to the plea, in May 2009, Robinson had a conversation with a contractor, asking for a $1,200 kickback from $4,000 for a project. The conversation was recorded by the FBI.
In June 2009, Robinson met with the contractor and received an envelope with $1,200 in cash. That meeting was videotaped.
