Ex-FBI Agent Indicted In Fatal February Crash
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A Prince George's County grand jury has indicted a former FBI agent on a charge of vehicular manslaughter in a crash that killed an 18-year-old man.
Adrian Johnson, 37, also was indicted Thursday on eight other offenses, including reckless driving while under the influence. The indictment stems from a Feb. 7 crash that killed Lawrence Garner, and seriously injured Garner's best friend, Robert Mitchell II.
Authorities say Garner was headed south in his Hyundai Sonata on North Keys Road in Brandywine when Johnson's vehicle struck his car. Police say Johnson had been driving north and veered across the center line. Johnson had been off duty at the time.
Johnson's attorney, Robert Bonsib, says he plans to fight the charge of vehicular manslaughter.
