Ex-Bank Officer Sentenced For Embezzling $313,000
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Federal prosecutors say a former trust officer at PNC Bank has been sentenced to 27 month in prison for embezzling more than $313,000 from accounts.
Fifty-five-year-old Tommy L. Phillips of Frederick was also ordered to pay restitution at Friday's sentencing.
Prosecutors say Phillips rerouted funds from bank clearing accounts into his personal accounts. Authorities say he used the money to pay off debts and buy jewelry for his wife.
